Kenneth N. Scott departed this life peacefully on Sunday November 2, 2025, at the age of 86. Born on September 28, 1939, and raised in Chicopee, Massachusetts, Ken later graduated from Cathedral High School in Springfield, Massachusetts. He went on to receive his Bachelor’s degree at American International College and his Master’s degree from Western New England College. Ken was an established Chemist at Hampden Papers in Holyoke, Massachusetts for the entirety of his career, retiring as Vice President & Director of Research and Development. He spent years in the laboratory and loved fishing the Connecticut River on his lunch breaks. Ken continued his love of chemistry after retirement by performing water quality testing in Cape Cod Bay.
He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Adele, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was most proud of his grandchildren and all their accomplishments. He instilled a strong work ethic in all his family and always felt blessed to have a large, loving family for support.
Ken was quick witted and full of sarcastic humor, a remarkable intellect, and perseverance that inspired his whole family. He loved skiing, biking, fishing, and boating. On Sundays, you could find him at church in the morning and watching a New England Patriots game in the afternoon.
He loved and looked forward to sharing the natural beauty of Cape Cod with family, providing the perfect vacation spot for his children, their spouses, his grandchildren, and his active entertaining great-grandchildren.
A Funeral mass will be held at 11:00 am on November 14, 2025 at St. Joan of Arc Church, 61 Canal Rd. Orleans, MA with receiving family and friends at 10:30.
