   Although I had not seen you or David for decades, l thought about you many times and have some great (really old) memories of Campground Beach.

Dear Lora, 
I am very sad to get the message of your untimely passing and want to offer my heartfelt condolences to your two beloved daughters and your husband. 
For many a years, Val and you were at the center of the German-American Partnership Program, in which I was the German coordinator. Quickly, I grew very fond of you two grand ladies, so it never just was "business", but fun and friendship that were at the core of everything. Your liveliness, your cracking sense of humor (and laugh!) and your reliability and strengths were extraordinary and made you such a good companion for all sorts of undertakings.
When I saw you (and Val) in pre-Covid times in 2018, it was unimaginable that it'd be the last time we three would' ve a great night together, chatting away to pizzas and wine in Val's kitchen. This is how I will always remember you.
Rest in peace, dear Lora.

Dear Lizzie and Katie, 

I am so sad to hear about the passing of your mom, Lora.  She was a wonderful woman whom I remember fondly.  The memories our families shared on the beach are some of my favorite.  I will always remember lazy days on Campground Beach (with the our moms doing needle point), the Campground Beach Yacht Club Regatta, swim lessons at Wiley Park, boogie boarding at Coast Guard Beach and our night of camping at Nickerson State Park (right before hurricane Bob blew through Cape Cod).  When I think of Lora, I always remember her yellow Datsun with the bumper sticker  "Life's a Beach".  Lora was always great fun and loved you both so much.   You are both in my thoughts and prayers and I do hope you are comforted by the memories you share.  May she rest in peace.

Dear Lizzie, Katie and family,
I was so saddened to hear of  Lora’s passing.   I have fond memories of swim lessons when you were young, and days at the beach, you girls all swimming and playing while the moms did counted cross stitch. I remember Lora always seemed to be baking home-made bread!  And there was the camping trip at Nickerson State Park which was cut short because of Hurricane Bob!  Years later we played Mah Jongg at Eastham COA.  She will be missed. May she Rest In Peace. 

Dear David, Lizzie, Katie, Thomas and family. My sincerest sympathy goes out to you all at the loss of Lora. As a friend and family member she was so very very special. I also had the privilege of working with her at Nauset High when I was substituting. I remember days on the beach, discussions of books and the love of family that she held so dear. She will be missed.

Rest In Peace and may the good lord take you into his great love as now your pain is over.
She was always a true legend at Nauset and will be greatly missed.

Was very saddened and sorry to learn of the passing of dear Lora.
Had the pleasure of playing Mah Jongg with Lora over the past years.  
Enjoyed her and her humor so much.  She will be missed at our Mah Jongg table at the Eastham COA.

Dear Lora, my beloved CCG (=Cream Cake Girl). I remember our trips with Val to Brussels, Amsterdam and "Kinderdijk", always looking for cakes with high amounts of cream as we had in Düren and at my home, when Ingrid baked "Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte".  Thank you for maniging the stay of Jens and me in the New England House of Sarah and Olaf, when we met the first  time in 2007 during my exchange visit at your school. I`ll never forget you.

So sad to hear of Lora's passing.  I remember pictures of her cherished daughters on the front desk at Nauset High School.  Every day for many, many years, she was the face I counted on in the office.  My mother passed away the night before the last day of school one year, but I felt like I needed to go to work and tie up any loose ends I had left.  The moment Laura saw me, she asked me what I was doing there, said you need to take care of nothing here, go home!  With her warm heart, she made me feel cared about.  Sending my deepest sympathy to all of her family.  

What a piece of work she was!! I remember her “spying on” a birds nest in real time in a corner of her computer screen while she was working the front desk at school.. She  was part warrior and part teddy bear. Vaya con Dios my friend.  You were one of a kind. Big love to the family.

Dear Lizzie and Katie-
I am very sorry to hear this sad news. Your mom was a fixture at Nauset Regional High School and knew every nook and cranny of this place! She did march to the beat of her own drum, but that is what made her special and one of a kind. Her eyes would light up at the mention of her daughters. She was very proud of you. I enjoyed talking to her as summer would approach. Her goal was to get to Coast Guard beach as much as possible, sitting on her beach chair, and adjusting it as the tides would change throughout the day. I'm glad she lived in such a beautiful place. When I heard the news today, a wave of deep sadness came over me. She worked so hard for many years. I was hoping her retirement would be much much longer. It is good to know that she witnessed her daughters become successful  and start their own families.  I will be thinking of you all- Katie McCully

Lora was always a friendly face in the midst of what was always chaos in the Nauset front office. She was forever helpful in navigating all the "unwritten" rules of the office and the school and she took her job seriously without being a gatekeeper.  I remember that when she was on verge of retiring, she said she wanted to volunteer at Wildcare , a center for the care and rehabilitation for injured wildlife. Requiescat in pace.  Sean Mulholland

I worked with Lora for twenty years at Nauset. She and I shared a love of books and she always had the best recommendations. She was her own person for sure and stuck to her guns if she believed in something. I remember her joy from becoming a grandmother. She was my husband Ed’s secretary and they had a great relationship. She will be missed by many. Peace to your family.  

Dear Lizzy and Katie, 
My heart breaks for you girls. Your mom was one of a kind. So funny, so smart, so feisty.  She took me under her wing, oh so many years ago, and taught me so much! To this day I still make her delicious carrot cake for D's birthday every year! My heart is full of funny Lora moments today. She had a heart of gold, and was always so good to me. My love for birds came from Lora, she taught me all about birding.  We shared a love of books and talked endlessly about what we were reading, long before book clubs came into vogue. 
You girls were your mom's pride and joy, I am so sorry for her passing, but I am grateful that her suffering is over.
