Madolyn P. Jones

Madolyn P. (Chase) Jones, 87 Passed away on September 26, 2012 at home peacefully surrounded by her loving family, after a brief illness. She was predeceased by her husband of over 50 years Ray L. Jones Sr. Born on April 23, 1925 in Harwich MA, to Harry & Bernice Chase, she graduated from Harwich High School and was a lifelong native Cape Codder. She was the last of her generation in our family predeceased by her 7 siblings.

She married our Dad on June 25, 1947 choosing to stay on Cape Cod where they created their greatest legacy, their family of seven children, which all married and blessed them with 7 more children as they considered their spouses to be their children too. Our Mom had incredible inner strength enduring many things in her lifetime. She always insisted raising seven children was easy and was very proud of all of our accomplishments. She will be remembered as a devoted mother who was involved in our lives and activities. She took great pride in making sure we kids always had “the best.” For many years, Mom worked as a waitress alongside our Dad who was a chef and they even owned their own restaurant, Ray’s in Yarmouth. Mom also spent many years working at Fleming’s Donut Shack in Brewster serving coffee and donuts and thoroughly enjoyed her time and customers there.

Her most favorite times were with family and friends gathering together. She loved the holidays, especially Christmas, whenever she was asked what she wanted the response was always “all I can get” although with her, it was never about the gift, but rather the thought that counted. In her later years she was always out and about with her best friend Dot Rose and the third musketeer Marilyn Mayo. Mom never liked to just sit at home. Her loves were her family and friends, children and Irish music.

She was predeceased by her son Ray Jones Jr. and grandsons Alexy Jones & Jason Jones. She is survived by her children, Richard & Cheryl Jones, Patricia (Jones) & Jacques Lapointe, Sandy (Jones) & Rick Gulczynski, Christopher & Denise Jones, Jeffrey & Maria Jones and Jennifer (Jones) & Rich Kish and her daughter-in-law Donna Jones. She is also survived by Grandchildren Richy Lapointe, Bianca (Lapointe) & Jon Bowden, Jeremy Gulczynski, Brianna Jones & Nicholas Jones and great-grandchildren: Michaela McGreevy, CaSandra McGreevy, Brandon Marshall, Christopher Marshall, Anthony Marshall, Spencer Lapointe, Bridgette Lapointe, Lucas Bowden, Samuel Bowden, Jordan Jones, Brittney Jones, Brandon Jones, Isaiah Kepner, Joshua Kepner and Benjamin Kepner. In addition, she is survived by many nieces nephews and incredible extended family and friends. Mom we love you.

Services to be held Saturday October 6, 2012 11:00 am at the Brewster Baptist Church, 1848 Main Street, Brewster MA. Memorial donations may be made to Life Choice Hospice, 15 Cape Lane, Brewster MA 02631.
