Martina Maria Pesanelli

Brewster, MA. Martina “Tina” Pesanelli passed away peacefully on December 31, 2024. She was born on January 15, 1932. Tina was the beloved wife of the late Felix A Pesanelli with whom she was married for 64 years, the sister of the late Frank VanOosten, and the sister of Aletta Ryan. Tina was the devoted mother of Mark and Ken Pesanelli and mother-in-law of Maureen and Tracy. Tina, affectionately known as “Oma”, was the beloved grandmother of Sara, Michael, Susan and Kathryn and the caring great-grandmother of Harper and Seamus. Tina is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Tina was raised in Malden, MA. Besides a homemaker, she was employed as a bookkeeper at various companies. Tina and Felix spent many wonderful summers in Brewster with friends and neighbors. They eventually retired to Brewster where Tina enjoyed kayaking, gardening and knitting with friends as well as spending time with her pet dogs. Tina loved music! She played the cello in grade school, performed in several stringed quartets and was a cellist with the Cape Symphony from 1989 to 2012. Tina loved golfing and was a member of Captains Course for many years. Tina and Felix loved socializing and were members of the Orleans Yacht Club. Tina also enjoyed travelling, especially on bicycle tours in the Netherlands.

The family thanks Tina’s longtime caregiver and companion, Sheila. Thanks also to the Rock Harbor Respite staff at the Orleans Senior Center and to the Oyster Pond and Hospice staff at Liberty Commons in North Chatham.

Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours Friday, January 17, 2025 from 11:00 am-1:00 pm at Nickerson Funeral Home, 77 Eldredge Park Way, Orleans, MA. A service will immediately follow at the funeral home at 1:00PM. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Tina’s memory to the Animal Rescue League of Brewster by visiting www.arlboston.org.
