Michael F. Kane

NORTH EASTHAM - Michael F. Kane, age 48 passed away on Feb. 11, 2012 at Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston after suffering a heart attack. He was the son of Francis E. Kane of Orleans and Carolyn A. Strakele and husband William of Morehead City, NC.

Michael graduated from Nauset Regional High School in 1981 and followed in the footsteps of his father becoming a member of Carpenter's Union Local 33 in Boston, MA.

Together, they spent many years designing and building custom homes on Nantucket Island and around New England.

Michael was preceded in death by his wife Carolyn O'Keefe Kane. He is survived by sons Justin of Stowe, VT. Jamison of Newburyport, MA and Braedon of Lynnfield, MA; sisters Carrie Kane of Graham, NC, Sallie Kane Bilbo of Truro, MA brother Matthew Kane of Orleans, Courtney Kane O'Donnell and husband John of Orleans; nephews Thomas Bilbo III and his fiancé Ana Ryder and Emmett Bilbo who had a very special relationship with and adored their Uncle Mike very much; nieces Amanda Kane and Savannah Bilbo and great-niece Ava Bilbo and great nephew Sawyer Kane Harold. Michael is also survived by his partner Anne Marie Flanagan of Lynnfield, MA and special friends Linda Higgins of Harwich, MA and the Malone family of West Roxbury, MA.

He will be missed by all who knew him and loved him.

Michael was a friend of Bill W.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 11am on Monday February 20th at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, Orleans, MA. A reception will follow immediately after in the church’s hall.
