

Patricia was born in Aberdeen, Maryland in 1933. Her parents were Richard F Cronin and Laura Hanway Cronin. She spent her childhood in Aberdeen where she enjoyed helping her uncle deliver ice to local homes. She graduated from Aberdeen High School in 1951 and attended University of Maryland, College Park.
Patricia met her husband when she agreed to go on a double date in Aberdeen. She married Harold King in May of 1953. Patricia followed her new husband to his duty station in “French Morocco” Africa while he was enlisted In the US Navy. They lived there 2 and a half years during which their first baby was born.
In 1968 Patricia and her family moved to Sudbury, Massachusetts where she began her career as a School Bus Driver. She worked as a school bus drive for over 25 years and loved the children she drove to school each day. She was a well- known bus driver in town.
In 1998 Patricia and her husband retired to Cape Cod. Together, they successfully owned and operated the Silver Herring Bed and Breakfast in Eastham for ten years. Patricia loved Cape Cod, the beach and watching the sunset.
Patricia enjoyed volunteer work. In Sudbury, she was a Girl Scout Leader for 27 years for local troops, and delivered Meals on Wheels. In Cape Cod, she was devoted to her service as Corresponding Secretary and Program Committee for PEO, a philanthropic organization and volunteered at her church, Eastham United Methodist.
Patricia always had an upbeat outlook on life. It was not her nature to be discouraged. She enjoyed involvement with her bridge club and mahjong parties.
Patricia is survived by her husband of 60 years, Harold King; sister Marian Sandlas and her husband, Jack, daughter, Judith King Alderson and her husband Bill; daughter Deborah King Harwood and her husband, Mike, daughter Sandra King Anderson and her husband Darren, son Michael King and his wife Jennifer; son David King and his wife Anne Marie and Amy Feiner, who was loved like a daughter. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 24 at 1pm at the Eastham United Methodist Church in Eastham, MA.
In addition, a graveside service will be held in Aberdeen, Maryland at a later date.
A memorial fund to honor Pat’s philanthropic work for PEO has been arranged. The funds will directly benefit women of Cape Cod who wishing to improve their lives by attending college.
