Avis de décès de Raymond F. Charest
AUX SOINS DE

Nickerson Funeral Home

Raymond F. Charest, Sr., 77, of Eastham, MA passed away on March 9, 2021 surrounded by family after a short battle with cancer.

Ray was born on July 13, 1943 in Hartford, CT to Roger Charest and Elizabeth Cowan. Raised in Hartford, he attended A.I. Prince Tech and later joined the Navy, where he was a member of the Naval Construction Battalions, better known as the Navy Seabees, with the rating of Construction Electrician Power Lineman Third Class. Afterwards, he would set out to find his passion. Having tried a few different professions, Ray finally settled on driving a truck, which he did for more than 30 years, and was a member of the Teamsters Union.

Ray had many hobbies that he enjoyed in his younger years; scuba diving, flying small private aircrafts and visiting many different casinos. Ray had 3 children, and loved spending time on Cape Cod and Aruba beaches with them. He enjoyed playing monopoly, watching old westerns, listening to Kenny Rogers and visits with his family. Ray would eventually leave his home in Stafford Springs, CT and move up to Cape Cod, where he pursued his passion in real estate, working for William Raveis Real Estate until the time of his death.

Ray will be missed by his wife Patricia (Foot) Charest, his stepsons John Wilson and Robert Wilson and their children Kelly, Sarah, Rob and Casey. Ray also leaves behind his sons Raymond F. Charest, Jr., Jason Charest and his wife Jodie, and his daughter, Melanie Mantilla. Ray is predeceased by his parents, his favorite uncle Albert Charest, daughter-in-law Regina Charest and his grandson Raymond F. Charest, III. He leaves behind 4 grandchildren, Alexis, Gabriel, Christian and Mollie, and one great-granddaughter, Addisyn.

A private service will be held by the family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite charity in Ray’s name.
