
Richard Clark Kroeger Jr, a Presbyterian minister who served parishes in the Twin Cities and Hinckley, Minnesota as well as in Wisconsin, North Dakota, New Mexico and New York State, passed away on November 9. He was a resident of Brewster.
Born in St. Louis, he was raised in Scarsdale, New York and graduated from Yale University after serving three years in the United States Navy during World War II. He received a Master of Divinity degree from Fuller Theological Seminary, a second Masters from Biblical Seminary in New York City and a Doctor of Ministry from Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary.
Beside his pastoral duties, he taught biblical studies at Bethel College, Eastern New Mexico University, the Center for Urban Ministerial Education and Whitworth College. In his retirement he organized the Cape Cod Institute of Christian Studies, a training program to prepare laity for Christian leadership.
He is survived by his wife, Catherine Clark Kroeger and five children: Paul Richard Kroeger, Robert Stuart Kroeger, Elizabeth Kroeger Elliott, Marjorie Pierce Kroeger and Mary Laura Kroeger, along with their spouses and ten grandchildren. A service to celebrate his life will be held in Brewster Baptist Church on Thursday, November 11, at 2:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be sent to the Graduate Institute of Applied Linguistics, Scholarship Fund, 7500 West Camp Wisdom Road, Dallas, TX 75236.
