

Robert A. McLellan, 93, of Brewster, MA passed away on Monday, August 28th, 2023 at Cape Cod Hospital. Bob was born, September 29, 1929 in Hyde Park, MA. He grew up in Readville, MA. Bob joined the Army in 1946 and was stationed in Germany until 1948 with the US Constabulary. He did a 2nd Tour of Duty with the Army, guarding the Panama Canal, from 1950 to 1951.
After Bob's 1st Army Tour of Duty, he came back to Hyde Park High School and earned his diploma.
Bob played semi-pro baseball for Blackstone Valle as an infielder. Bob's career in sales had him working for various companies from 1949 to 1955 until he landed in the glass industry. There he worked sales for Gatchell Glass in Watertown, MA. In 1957, he started working for Shaw Glass Co. where he was the executive salesman for the next 23 years in West Roxbury and then Stoughton, MA.
During this time frame, Bob and his beloved wife Joan (Wheeler) brought up 5 children in Stoughton, MA. Bob and Joan moved to Brewster, MA in 1981, as Bob was now the manager of Settles Mid Cape Glass in Hyannis, MA. In 1983, Bob and a business partner started their own company called L&M Glass Co., in Hyannis, MA. One year later Bob started his own business called Mayflower Glass Co. in Brewster, MA where he worked until he retired in 1992.
For the next 31 years, Bob enjoyed Cape Cod and traveled extensively with his wife.
Bob is survived by his wife Joan, his 5 children: Robert and wife Lissa of Strafford, NH, Thomas and partner Shari of Eliot, ME, Paul and wife Kathleen of Brewster, MA, Stephen and partner Wendy of Eastham, MA and daughter Marie of Brewster, MA; Also, 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
A visitation for Robert will be held Wednesday, September 6, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Our Lady of the Cape Church, Stony Brook Road, Brewster, MA, 02631. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 AM. A burial following Mass will occur at Brewster Memorial Cemetery, Brewster, MA 02631.
