Samuel W. Russo

Samuel was born and raised in Rochester, NY where he attended Jefferson High School and graduated from the University of Rochester in 1951. He actively served in U. S. Army during WWII with encounters in the Normandy invasion, battles through France, Luxemburg, Belgium, and Germany. Upon his discharge, he went to college and worked for Honeywell Inc., for 35 years as a Corporate Field Manager with special assignments in Rochester, Buffalo, Pittsburgh, Cleveland, and Washington, DC. He was married to Teresa Russo for almost 63 years, who predeceased him on March 25, 2011. He enjoyed traveling, especially to Southern France, Italy, and Sicily. Samuel is survived by two brothers in law, John Procopio and Tom Procopio of Rochester, NY and a sister in law Matilda Anne Procopio of Rochester, NY. He is also survived by his god daughter and niece Sharyl Murphy of North Hampton NH and many additional nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

His visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 from 9:00 am to 10:30 followed by his funeral service at 10:30 am in the Nickerson Funeral Home, 77 Eldredge Park Way, Orleans, MA with burial at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, MA at 1:00p.m. Memorial donations, may be made in his memory to a charity of one’s choice.
