Born and raised in Chicopee, MA to Peter and Frances Marcinek, Tom lived a life full of strength, loyalty and love. He proudly served his country as a Master Sergeant in the Air National Guard, retiring after 20 years of honorable service. He continued his dedication to public service as a police officer and worked as a carpenter and golf mechanic. More than his professional accomplishments, Tom was most proud of his role as a husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Josephine (Niemiec) Marcinek, LPN. He leaves behind his children: Thomas Marcinek Jr. of Tennessee, Denise Daly of North Carolina, and Darrell Marcinek of New Jersey. He was a proud grandfather to five grandchildren, and a great-grandfather to five great-grandchildren - all of whom loved him deeply.
Tom loved fishing, painting and playing the organ. He will be remembered not only for his service to others but as a man who always put family first. His legacy lives on in the hearts of everyone who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Tom’s memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, a cause that was close to his heart.
A wake will be held on Thursday, October 9th, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Nickerson Funeral Home in Orleans, MA. A private mass and funeral will follow on Friday at the family’s discretion. Tom will be laid to rest at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, MA.
He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
