With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Angelo Salvo Sr., age 81, on October 22, 2025.
Angelo was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Julietta Salvo; his devoted parents, Carmelo and Rosa Salvo; and his brothers, Vincent and Joseph Salvo.
He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Diane; his proud son, Angelo John Salvo; his caring daughter, Rose Mary Farmer; and his treasured granddaughter, Samantha. He is also survived by his brothers Richard, John, and Robert Salvo; his sister, Marisa Ganey; and many dear family members and lifelong friends.
Born in Sicily, Angelo came to America at a young age with courage in his heart and a dream for a better life. Through hard work and determination, he built a legacy rooted in family, faith, and pride. For many years, he ran a bakery in New York and Connecticut., where his fresh bread became a local favorite and a symbol of the care and craftsmanship he brought to everything he did.
Angelo was a man who loved the outdoors. Whether he was golfing, working in his garden, or tending to his beloved fig tree, he found peace and purpose in nature’s quiet rhythm. He also cherished the quiet moments of prayer and reflection shared with his son, Angelo, finding comfort and strength in their time together. Angelo loved opera, particularly Italian Opera. He spent many hours listening to his favorite tenor, Beniamino Gigli.
Above all else, family meant everything to him. He was a steadfast husband, a devoted father, a proud grandfather, and a loyal friend — the kind of man who led with love, strength, and humility.
Family and friends are invited to gather in his honor on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home.
A Catholic Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, followed by entombment at Volusia Memorial Funeral Park.
Though he is no longer with us, Angelo’s spirit — his love for family, his faith, and the values he lived by — will continue to guide and inspire all who knew him.
