Ruth Anne and I just finished watching that beautiful Mass. We don't have Facebook. However, I really am quite overwhelmed at the passing of Aunt Barb and her majesty as the last of a great family generation. 
Time and distance may have ebbed our opportunities to visit and " keep up".  But it will never change that Aunt Barb and my mom were sisters, with all of my wonderful aunts and uncles, the torch has passed. Be at peace Aunt Barb and finally now, the Bridge table is full.

 I was at a loss for words until I watched the beautiful video tribute for Aunt Barb, then the thoughts of what to write came flooding in. 
Being old, and Irish - it’s quite difficult being limited to such writing constraints of 2000 characters, but I’ll try. 
Those wonderful images of Aunt Barb, Uncle Bud, and the entire family spoke volumes about her life. Aunt Barb always had love in her heart, and firmly believed in the strength and support of our family. It’s said that we never really “lose” those we’ve loved in our lives, as long as that person’s name is uttered again, or a thought of them comes to mind. After the grief wanes, there will be a nod, or a conversation about Aunt Barb, and you’ll feel a certain comfort - almost like an emotional hug. Smiles will replace sadness, and we’re quickly brought back to a certain time, or context that brings us all closer to each other. Aunt Barb’s passing closes a chapter in our lives, but thank God for such a grand life. 
Aunt Barb is the last of a special generation that gave us our legacy, and enhanced our lives.
A memory came to me when I was enjoying a beer after my yard work. We often had a family gatherings, and I would see Aunt Barb put a dash of salt into her beer. Being curious, I asked her why. She smiled and said,“that’s just the way I like my beer.” I’ve never seen that seasoning done to beer done before or since. 
On that note, I hope we will soon be able to raise a glass(of a favorite libation)to such a wonderful woman, and what she means to all of us.

Aunt Barb was the most loving, insightful and gracious woman I have ever known. The love she showed to me during the time of my mom's death got me through. And many more moments since. I am grateful for all the memories including her bringing me gifts of food when I was sick or having children and how we shared a love of crafts. I will miss her but her love will always be in my heart. 

We are so sad about Aunt Barb’s passing. She was such a wonderful woman- a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. Visiting her was such a pleasure! I loved talking books, grandkids, and current events with her. Secretly, I also simply loved watching her because she reminded me so much of my mother, with whom she was so close.  Hopefully, the aunts are all together, chatting like old times and enjoying some good chocolate. God bless you, Aunt Barb, and God bless your kids and grandkids who will miss you so. Sending lots of love to you all.

I’ve heard it said that people come into our lives for a reason, bringing something we must learn. We are led to those who help us most to grow. Thank you for helping me grow, especially as a mom. I am grateful that I knew you for as long as I did.. because I have been changed for good❤️Because I knew you❤️

Oh Aunt Barb, how my heart breaks thinking that you’ve left us.  I never thought this day would come, but we can’t change God’s plan.  We’re all so lucky to have had you as long as we did.

You were the best listener and helped me through some tough life events when I needed a “Mom.”  I will always cherish our visits to Florida and all our phone calls.  You raised a strong, beautiful family who adored you. And your grandchildren and great-grandchildren are incredible!

My prayers, love and sympathy are for for the entire family.

Barbara is such a wonderful person. She loved her orchids, books , music, cooking and sharing  stories  with a glass of St Michelle’s Riesling wine together.
She loved her family more then anything and spoke highly of all.
I will miss her deeply she will always be in my heart.



I will miss your smile and your hugs. I will miss our talks about books and history and religion.  I will miss the many envelopes I received in the mail with articles telling me that I was not cooking my vegetables long enough or that my coffee water needed to be cold. I will miss being directed around Rochester or Ormond Beach without taking any left turns. I will miss a mother’s love.  I will miss you!

Les, Nora, our kids and grandkids express our deepest condolences to all of the Dineen family.  

Aunt Barb was more than an Aunt, she was a very dear friend.  We’d call each other and we’d be on the phone for two hours, not to mention when I’d visit for a week or two we’d be up at 2:00 a.m. chatting away.  We’d go out for breakfast, lunch or dinner.  We’d go to Church, movies, etc.  We got in Uncle Bud’s car and we drove to St. Augustine and neither one of us remembered where we left the car.   We both got  our exercise that day! 

She was like a Mom to all of us after we lost our parents and anytime you wanted to talk, she’d be there for you.  She will be missed by all who knew her.

When we became engaged, Aunt Barb invited us over for dinner, along with her sisters,  to welcome Jill into the family. We had a delicious home-cooked meal in her lovely dining room, and she had even selected a set of crystal candlesticks for an engagement present, which we still use today!  We never forgot her welcoming gesture. Such a kind, warm and classy lady!
