My dad and Barry were friends growing up as my dad (Marks, or as Ms. Clark called him, "S", a nickname I was told was given to him by Ms. Clark's husband)and Uncle James lived 2 houses down from Ms. Clark. I can remember at such an early age my Grandmother Mary walking me down to Ms. Clark's house so that they could have their evening chat. I'll miss stopping by her house in my patrol car and talking to her about my young daughter, Ashleigh. When my grandmother passed away a few years ago, I thought that I had no more grandparents until I realized that I had Ms. Clark. She will be missed....

Ms Clara, I will miss seeing and talking with you when my dog and I take our daily walk. Your snowbird friend,

Dear Barry, I am saddend to hear of cousin Clara's passing. She was a wonderful loving, caring, and compassionate person who lived a blessed life the way she believed best. She was there when someone was in need and helped guide them in the right direction. Wow! what a great person she was. I loved Clara and will miss her warmhearted soul.



Clara Clark has been in my life for as long as I can remember. From the
outset, when I made friends with Barry, Clara and Ellis were always
warm and loving, and their home became a kind of second home to me.
Because both families lived only a few houses apart, we, naturally, saw
a good deal of each other, along with another good friend, Bobby
Pepiot, who had known Barry even longer than I. The three homes formed
sort of a triangle, which suited everyone just fine. Invariably, the
action would end up at the Clark's house, and Clara would find herself
bandaging skinned knees, breaking up squabbles, driving, and/or picking
us up from wherever, and all the while managing to have supper cooked
when Ellis came home from work.  She did all of this, and more, and
made it look easy. Love always came easy for Clara, and she gave of it
unselfishly.

Throughout the years, when life took me to various places, I kept in
touch with Clara, always. I shall never forget the day of my young
father's wake, when I looked up and saw her standing there with the
kindest, most understanding look on her face, then, I noticed she was
wearing a cast on her arm!  I ran to hug her, and remarked about her
broken arm, which she, immediately, downplayed.  See, she was there
practicing her Christianity, living it, making it real and accessible
for anyone who so desired to know it.

I will remember Clara Clark as a good Christian lady, one who really
lived the Christian life for all of her days. I loved her dearly. I
will remember her always.
