Doris M. Wilde

Doris M. Wilde, age 103, of Ormond Beach went home to be with Jesus on December 31, 2012. Doris was born in Romania on January 27, 1909. She was the seventh of ten children of Demitri and Domenica Jastremeski. The family immigrated to Canada in the 1920’s. During the depression years, Doris went to Detroit, Michigan where she had a brother, in search of employment. She was fortunate to find it with Chrysler Corporation. Doris attended the First Baptist Church of Detroit. There she met and married her husband, Carl Wilde in 1936. They moved to California and started their own business. They retired from that business in 1968, moved to North Carolina, Carl’s home, for a brief period, then moved to Ormond Beach, making it their final home. They became members of Riverbend Community Church in 1970. They were a happy devoted Christian couple who loved God, each other, and their Church family. They were loved and respected by all who knew them. Doris’ husband, Carl, precedes her in death in 2000. Doris is survived by her sister Eva Fowler, her nephews, Robert Fowler and Dr. Peter James, and one niece, Shelly Smith, all of Canada. A visitation will be held at Riverbend Community Church 2080 West Granada Blvd., Ormond Beach, FL on Friday, January 11,2013 at 10:00 am until 11:00am with a funeral service to follow at 11:00am. Entombment will follow at Volusia Memorial Park, 550 N.
