

The Memorial service will be held Saturday, November 5, 2016, 11:00 AM at United Methodist Church, 1875 Freier Rd., Quakertown, PA. Pastor Tom Robinson will be officiating. George (Bucky) was born in Philadelphia, PA, on July 15, 1930. He graduated from Quakertown High School, continued on to receive a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Penn State University, and was a member of the Delta Upsilon Fraternity. He was a veteran of the Korean War and retired from the Naval Reserves as a Commander. George was married to Ethel (Wilson) on June 18, 1955. They were married 61 years.
He worked for the U.S. Treasury Department for over 30 years. He enjoyed fishing, boating, and flying. He was an active member of the Quakertown and Tomoka United Methodist churches. He was involved in the Boy Scouts of America and Quakertown Aviation School. He managed the Quakertown Food Pantry for over 15 years. George is survived by his wife, Ethel, sister, MaryLou Hoffman, four children, Mark A. Setman and his wife, Inta, of Ambler, PA, Linda S. Culp (Setman) and her husband, Randy, of Galeton, PA, George L. Setman V, and Jonathan D. Setman, of Quakertown, PA. Grandchildren: Derek B. Culp, Sean S. Culp, Alison Setman, Kassandra Setman, Stephen Setman, Jonathan H. Setman. Great Grandchildren: Carolina Joy Culp, Keira Lyn Marie Culp and Preston Parker Culp. George is preceded in death by his parents, George L. Setman III and Vida Jane Setman, as well as his sisters, Barbara Buff and Nancy Krown. Flowers may be sent to Quakertown United Methodist Church, or in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Boy Scouts of America or Quakertown United Methodist Church.
