Hazel S. Woodworth

Hazel Alice Sykes Woodworth, 93 of South Daytona, FL. passed on May 27, 2011 at Halifax Health Hospice in Edgewater, FL. Services will be 11AM at Central Baptist Church 142 Fairview Ave., Daytona Beach, Fl., Wednesday, June 1, at 11:00AM. Burial will following at Volusia Memorial Park. The family will be receiving friends at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home, 548 N. Nova Rd, Ormond Beach on Tuesday, May 31, from 5-8 PM..

Hazel worked for Halifax Hospital for 55 years. She retired as a Supervising Nurse in the Psychiatric Ward. She was born in Wabasso, FL. She moved to the Daytona Beach area in 1950. Hazel was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Pilot Club of Daytona Beach, and Central Baptist Church of Daytona Beach. Hazel enjoyed gardening, crafts with the Central Baptist Senior group at her church, and volunteering with South Daytona Citizen Alert Council Neighborhood Watch.

A caring and loving mother she is survived by her daughter, Gail White of South Daytona, grandson, Bill Maycock and wife, Lynn, of Faith, N.C., granddaughter Marla Pugh and husband, Kelly, of Port Orange and 5 great grandchildren; Mallory and Shelby Maycock and Alex, Joey and Nolan Pugh. She was preceded in death by her husband Wade “Woody” Woodworth and granddaughter Linda Pandelos.
