Helen Jean Ray will be remembered for her kindness, warmth, and generous heart. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and the world’s best Nana. Helen passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on January 2, 2026.
Born and raised in South Charleston, West Virginia, Helen was one of ten siblings. At the time of her passing, she was the last remaining, carrying with her a lifetime of family history, memories, and strength.
She later moved to Florida, where she made her home in Longwood, Heathrow, and Daytona Beach Shores.
Helen’s genuine interest in others drew people to her, and she formed friendships wherever life took her. Over her 97 years, she shared meaningful connections with friends, neighbors, and loved ones across every season of her life.
A voracious reader who never went anywhere without a book, Helen found joy in stories and learning. Her love will live on in the stories, laughter, and lives of those she cherished.
She is survived by her son, Glen Ray, and her daughter, Phoebe (Buck) Mullins, as well as her five beloved grandchildren—Audra Uhran, Allie Ray, Hayley Molin, Natalen Mullins, and Nick Molin. She is reunited in heaven with her husband, Gerald Ray, and her daughter, Sally (Greg) Molin.
Flowers can be sent to the funeral home or donations can be made to St. Judes Childrens Hospital.
