

Hugh Carlton Miller passed away on April 26, 2012 at his residence of twenty three years in Ormond Beach, Florida. He had a wonderful life for 90 years. Born in Dayton, Ohio on November 23, 1921 to Mabel Lukens Harner and Samuel Corwin Miller, he lived, farmed and went to school in the Beaver Creek area until he entered the army in 1942. Sergeant Miller served in the Corps of Engineers in Burma, receiving four medals and citations for his dedicated service. He married Mary Amelia Frasca on November 2, 1946. He received a degree in Business Administration from Sinclair College in Dayton, Ohio in 1955. Hugh was employed with U.S. Steel for twenty-five years with a final position as Director of Personnel Services for Bahama Cement Company in Freeport, Bahamas from 1962-1969. He then moved to Ormond Beach, Florida owning and operating Ormond Fuel until 1981, and finally serving as Vice-President of Administration at Eltech Instruments until 1988. Hugh is survived by his wonderful wife of sixty-five years Amelia, his sister and her husband, Barbara and Ronald Koogler, his children Lee, Susan, Keith and their spouses, three grandsons, four granddaughters and one great-grandson. He was immensely proud of his family. He appreciated his cars, family reunions, hard work and a good martini. He will be greatly missed by his family. No services are planned at this time.
