

James G. Freebes, of Ormond Beach, a retired electrician for the New York Railroad for 31 years died Monday July 11, 2011, at home. He was 81 years old. Born September 10, 1929 in Queens (Ozone Park) New York to the late Henry and Elsie Freebes. James was the second oldest of six children. Mr. Freebes moved to the Ormond Beach in October of 2010 from his birthplace. He was a diehard Yankee and Met Fan also and avid Fisherman and Boater throughout his life. He was a life-time member of the Reilly’s Boat Club in Howard Beach, NY and well as the past treasurer. Besides his parents, James was predeceased by his older brother Arthur. He is survived by his sister Doris McGarry of Ormond Beach and Marilyn Blake of Jacksonville, N.C, brother Richard (Linda) of South Ozone Park NY and sister Mary Lu (Frank) Hubbard of Jackson Michigan, Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Tuesday July 19, 2011 at Volusia Memorial Park 550 N Nova Rd. Ormond Beach.
