James C. Murray

James C. Murray, age 80, passed away in Ormond Beach, FL December 10, 2014. He was born January 25, 1934 in Troy, NY. He worked for Mulcahy's Furniture, Standard Furniture and Mooradian Furniture in different managerial positions for more than 33 years. James served his country honorably for 10 years in the Armed Forces Reserves. Jim loved sports and was an avid fan of the NY Giants, Boston Red Sox and the Boston Celtics. James was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Daytona Beach, FL. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and extended church family. James is survived by his son James B. Murray and wife Melissa of Port St. Lucie, FL; daughter Laura Lewis and husband George of Port Orange, FL; grandchildren Briana, Jarad and Jennifer; sisters Karen Hansen (Harold) of Troy, NY and Alicia Purcell of Latham, NY. He is preceded in death by his brother Walter F. Murray who passed away in 2011. A memorial service will be held at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home, 548 N. Nova Rd., Ormond Beach, FL, on Saturday, December 20, 2014 at 11:00 am. Burial will follow immediately at Volusia Memorial Park, Ormond Beach.
