Joan E Sizemore

It is with great sadness that the family of Joan Esther Sizemore (nee Powell) of Port Orange, FL, announce her passing on Wednesday August 25, 2021, at the age of 82. Joan was born and raised in Cape May County, NJ, and graduated from Middle Township High School. She was a member of the Cape May County 4-H and a dancer with Jerry Barber Dance Studio. Joan had a long career with the New Jersey Bell Telephone Company and then transferred to Southern Bell in Florida which she retired from. You could find Joan every weekend at either the Daytona Farmer’s Market or St. Augustine Farmer’s Market with her husband, Aytch and family selling local produce. Joan and her husband enjoyed dressing up as clowns and visiting patients in local pediatric hospitals to spread joy. Joan was also a member of the Sattilla Hunting Lodge and enjoyed hunting game with her husband. She was an active member of the Rock Church and found immense strength in her faith.

Joan was predeceased by her husband, Aytch Sizemore (2015), her father, John Powell, Jr. (1990), mother, Esther Powell (2001), her brothers, John Powell, III (2019) and George Powell (2021), and daughter-in-law, Claudia Sizemore (2021). Joan will lovingly be remembered by her sister, Carol Porch, son, Scott Sizemore, daughter, Becky Sita and her husband Joe; 10 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and "mom" and “grandmom” to many.

Private services will be held at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home, Ormond Beach on Saturday, September 11, 2021. Joan’s service will be live streamed for anyone who would like to attend. Please locate Joan’s name on the funeral home website and locate the link under services.
