John moved to Florida with his family and graduated from Mainland High School. He married Carol Purdy on December 19, 1969, and they enjoyed 57 years of marriage. John worked as a Realtor/Broker for Kiel Realty as well as was a Sales Manager for Daytona Toyota.
John had a passion for cooking, singing, music, woodworking, genealogy and going to the beach with his wife, Carol.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Alice and Howard Kiel, and two brothers, Gary and Keith.
John is survived by his wife, Carol Ann Kiel, five kids: John Kiel Jr., Michelle Cameron, Jeremy Kiel, Melissa June, and Justin Kiel; sisters, Cindy Kiel-Evans and Mary Alice Donnelly, and 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 27, 2026, at 5 pm at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1125 6th Street, Daytona Beach, FL 32117. Burial will be private. For floral contributions, please deliver directly to the church on the day of service.
