John M. Lowe

A memorial service for John "Monty" Montgomery Lowe, 76, who passed from this life peacefully on Friday, October 8, 2010 in Ormond Beach, will be held at the Riviera Assisted Living Facility on Saturday, October 23, 2010 at 2:00 pm.

John was born on January 23, 1934 in Savannah, GA. He was the son of the late Carl, Sr. and Virginia Lowe. They moved to Daytona Beach in 1947. He graduated from Georgia Military Academy in 1954. He worked as a mail clerk at Security First Federal Bank for 35 years. He also worked with the Danny Thomas A.L.S.A.C. St. Jude Hospital. He has been a member of First Baptist Church for many years. He was predeceased by his sister, Frances Bradley and brother, Carl W. Lowe, Jr.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his daughter, Nancy (Ginny) V. Hughes; grandsons, Trevor and Matthew Hughes; a step grandson, Justin Hughes; sisters, Carlyn McElreath and Helen Torbert; nieces and nephew, Linda, Terry, Mary, Helen, Carla and Kathleen; a grandniece and grandnephews.

The family is requesting that in lieu of flowers, that donations be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are under the care and trust of Volusia Memorial Funeral Home, Ormond Beach.
