Joseph George Herget

Joe was born on August 5, 1941, in St. Louis, Missouri, and passed away Monday, July 17, 2023, at the age of 81. He rose to the rank of Sergeant Major in the Marine Corps and proudly served his country for more than 30 years. Joe enjoyed spending time with his family and tending to his acreage in Flagler County, Florida, where he retired.

He was predeceased by his mother Stella Herget and sister Patti Watkins.

Joe is survived by his wife of 61 years Sandy, sons Joe Jr., Todd (Debbie), daughters Joyce Herget and Janet Davidson (Aaron), seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren and a host of extended relatives and friends. Joe was a credit to this great nation and will be missed by those who knew him and the many families he helped thru generously giving to various charities.

A visitation for Joseph will be held Tuesday, July 25, 2023, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home, 548 N Nova Rd, Ormond Beach, Florida, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM.
