Joseph “Joey” Thomas Simpson passed away September 1, 2011. He was born May 12, 1954 to Clarence and Anna (Villecco) Simpson in Bay Shore, NY. Joey graduated from East Islip High School. He went on to become a carpenter with the Carpenters Union in Long Island for many years. He moved to the Daytona Beach area in 2004 from Long Island.
Joey was fond of listening to music, especially the Beatles. He enjoyed watching TV, watching baseball and football, both on TV and live, crabbing, travelling and going to the dog track.
Besides his fiancé and parents, he is survived by his son Joseph Simpson, daughter Kristen Simpson, 3 grandchildren, a brother Robert Simpson, a sister Betty Diaz, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday September 14, 2011 at the Volusia Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, 548 N. Nova Rd., Ormond Beach, FL 32174.
