Judith Dewar Clark Dick, lovingly known as Judy and Nana, was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on January 7, 2026, at 6:01 p.m., after a life devoted to faith and family. She was 91 years old.
Judith was born on October 29, 1934, in Durham, North Carolina, to Jubal and Lula Clark. In 1950, before her junior year of high school, she moved from Georgia to Daytona Beach, Florida, where she immediately joined First Baptist Daytona, a church she faithfully called home for the next 76 years. Her faith was central to her life—second only to her deep and abiding love for her family.
She graduated Class of 1952 from Mainland High School in Daytona Beach, Florida, where she met her high school sweetheart, Ralph Dick, whom she married in 1953. Together they shared 62 years of marriage, building a life marked by undying love, deep commitment, laughter, faith in Jesus, and the beautiful balance of opposites attracting. Together they weathered life’s joys and struggles, walking hand in hand through thick and thin with God as their foundation. After Ralph’s passing in 2015, not a moment went by without Judy thinking of her beloved Ralph and when they would be reunited in Heaven, perfected through Jesus’ saving grace.
Judith was the mother of six children: Belynda Williams, Beverly Horn, Bonnie Kirby, Bryan Dick, Bradley Dick, and Brenda Compton. She was a proud Nana to 16 grandchildren, whom she lovingly called her angel babies; a Great-Nana to 19 great-grandchildren (one of whom preceded her in death); and a Great-Great-Nana to five great-great-grandchildren. Her legacy lives on through each generation she cherished so deeply.
She had a lifelong love of photography, delighting in taking pictures, collecting them, and spending hours revisiting memories—especially those of family gatherings, flowers, nature, and the many trips she shared with her beloved Ralph. Judy had a true green thumb, with a particular love of orchids, most of which bloomed in her favorite color, purple. Her knowledge of gardening and plant life was vast, and her home reflected her care and creativity.
Judy made a career of taking care of babies, as she was the ultimate mother and caregiver with an imagination rivaled by none. She had a soft spot for diet soft drinks, especially diet colas, which she savored with a smile, lots of ice, and a bendy straw.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jubal and Lula Clark, and her brother, Herald Clark. She is survived by her sister, Sue Phifer, and six children.
A service for family and friends will be held on Friday, January 16, 2026, at 12:00 p.m., with a viewing and reception to be held beforehand from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home.
Burial will follow at Daytona Memorial Park at 2:30 p.m. Arrangements have been entrusted to Volusia Memorial Funeral Home and Park,
Judy’s life was a testament to faith, love, and unending joy. Her home and arms were always open—day or night—to family, friends, neighbors, Sunday School students, and anyone in need.
2 Timothy 4:7-8
7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 8 Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.
