

With heartfelt sorrow and loving remembrance, we announce the passing of Lois M. Sessoms, who entered eternal rest on May 6, 2026. Lois was a woman of strength, grace, intelligence, and deep compassion whose life touched countless hearts through both her family and her lifelong dedication to education.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved daughter Cindy Frey Morris, and one brother.
She leaves to cherish her memory her loving children, Angel (Lawrence Anderson) Sessoms, Albert Sessoms, and Edward Frey; her treasured grandchildren, Mariah, Hope, Henry, and Rowan; along with a host of extended family members and dear friends who will forever carry her love in their hearts.
A devoted educator, Lois also known as Dr. Fennelly dedicated many years of her life to shaping and inspiring young minds. She retired as a college professor and dean from Bethune-Cookman University, where her wisdom, leadership, and commitment to excellence left a lasting legacy among students and colleagues alike.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Lois embraced life with creativity and wonder. She loved traveling, especially visiting the mountains where she found peace and joy in nature’s beauty. An accomplished watercolor painter, she expressed her gentle spirit and artistic soul through her art. Whether painting, traveling, or spending time with loved ones, Lois found happiness in the simple blessings of life.
Above all, Lois was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend whose family meant everything to her. Her strength, warmth, and unwavering love created a foundation of comfort and support for those around her. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever treasured.
Though her earthly journey has ended, the love and lessons Lois shared will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her. May she rest peacefully and eternally embraced in God’s loving care.
