

She was born on December 14, 1932 in Caguas, Puerto Rico, beloved daughter of Miguel Claudio and Maximina Sanchez, the second youngest of five children.
Lydia moved to New York then to California where she had a career as an Import/ Export broker for over 30 years before she retired and moved to Florida. Throughout her life she maintained a loving, happy, selfless demeanor and possessed a contagious sense of humor. Lydia was passionate about living life and loved to dance, cook, entertain, travel, and play dominos and bingo. Her family and friends were Lydia’s love and her daughter and grandson her pride and joy. She was loved by those who knew her and considered by many to be their second “Mom”.
She is preceded in death by her parents, second husband Carlos, sister Carmen, brother Antonio, niece Dalisay and nephew Kenneth. Surviving family members are numerous but her immediate family which she leaves loving memories with are her first husband Rene, daughter Michelle, grandson Dayn, daughter’s life partner Darin, sister Julia, brother Roberto, nieces Evelyn, Sonia, Cindy, Idalia and nephews Fernando, Ronald, Louis, Raymond and Roberto Jr. She also leaves behind a lot of caring friends.
Rene, Michelle and Darin lovingly cared for her the last years of her life along with the many caretakers in her daily life at the nursing home. The family wishes to express their greatest gratitude for their help.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that you take a moment to remember how she made you smile or laugh. This would make Lydia happy.
