Mabel Blue Herring

Mabel Blue Herring of Holly Hill passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on July 19, 2014. She was born September 29, 1924 in Dunn, North Carolina. Mabel was predeceased by her beloved husband Tate O’Connell “T.O.” of 64 years. She retired from Southern Bell/AT&T after many devoted years of service. She enjoyed tending to the beauty of her yard which brought her much joy. Her faith in God inspired her to be a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Mabel is survived by her daughters Sylvia Mann (Lamar) and Donna Rose Rucker. She will also be missed by her loving grandchildren, Heather Iannarelli (Jeremy), Phillip T. Rucker (Jessica), Charles J. Rucker and four great-grandchildren, Jacob and Hunter Iannarelli and Kaleb and Haley Rucker. She is also survived by her family and friends who will cherish her memory. The -family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Roxy Marrese (Terri, Pam, and Brenda), and the following angels from Halifax Health: The France Tower 4th Floor Nursing Staff, Dr. Perez and staff of Brooks Rehabilitation, and IMC Hospice Staff. A graveside service will be co-officiated by Jim Smith and Ed Marshall at Volusia Memorial Park, 550 N. Nova Road, Ormond Beach on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at 12:30PM.
