

Malinda L. Snider “Linda” lost her brave battle to cancer leaving behind a loving family and lots of great friends. She will be sadly missed by all that knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her father Alvin Alford and loving son Ron Lacy. Born to Alvin and Betty (Smith) Alford on June 4, 1948 she moved to Ohio as a young child but has made Florida her home for over 35 years. She is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, Bill; daughter, Kim Lacy (Joe), stepson, Rick Snider (Sue) all of Daytona Beach as well as step-daughters, Kim Heckman (Eric) and Sharon Snider of Christiansburg, Ohio. She leaves behind 3 grandchildren and 8 step grandchildren who were her whole world. She is also survived by 3 loving sisters, Nannie Mills (Ron), Patsy Cavender (Doug) and Mary Poling (Don) as well as many nieces and nephews all of Piqua, Ohio. She will also be greatly missed by her best friend for over 40 years, Penny Ording (Joe) also of Ohio. She was an avid bowler and part owner of Bellair Lanes. She spent many years as Treasurer/Secretary to several leagues as well as serving on the Board of Directors for the Lady’s Bowling Association. She made many friends in the bowling community and truly enjoyed her work. She felt like her bowlers were family. Her greatest joy was always helping and doing for others.
A Visitation will be held from 6-8 P.M. on Tuesday October 12, 2010 in The Ormond Beach Chapel of Volusia Memorial Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday October 13, 2010 at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Volusia Memorial Park, 550 N. Nova Rd., Ormond Beach.
