Born in Elizabeth, NJ to William J. & Marion H. Ardrey. She attended Abraham Clark High School, where she played clarinet and sang in the A Cappella Choir. She also sang in her church choir.
While in High School, Marilyn met and fell in love with Charlie. They married in 1950 and had their first child in 1951. Three more followed. As their family grew to four children, they moved to Elizabeth, NJ. She was married to Charlie for 63 years; he was the love of her life. They enjoyed life with their family and friends, with many bar-b-ques and vacations.
Marilyn worked part-time in a TV repair shop in Elizabeth NJ., while her children were in school. When they moved to Scotch Plains, NJ, she found a wonderful job in an accounting office and loved it. She became a CPA and moved to Palm Coast, FL. There her career flourished, she became of Hospitality Comptroller and a Chief Financial Officer. Most people don’t know that she was offered an interview with Donald Trump, but decided not to work for him, she didn’t want to hear the words, “You’re Fired.” Marilyn didn’t like to sit around; she worked well into her 80’s. When not working she was an avid reader and liked to write short stories.
Marilyn biggest accomplishment was her family. Her parents, brother, husband, children, Aunts and Uncles and nieces and nephews. Saturdays were always family time together and Sunday was church.
Marilyn is survived by: her sons: Allan (Jill), Charles, Jr. (Linda) and daughter Cathy (Jim), 13 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Her brother, “Doc” William Jr (Mar). She has many nieces and nephews and countless friends.
She was a member of The First Baptist Church of Palm Coast.
Marilyn loved Jesus, her husband and family, friends and life itself. She is home with her Lord and Savior.
