With loving and heartfelt sorrow, we announce the passing of Raymond Maria, who entered eternal rest on May 8, 2026, at the age of 92 surrounded by the love of his family and the grace of a life well lived.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved son Robert Maria, and four siblings whom he held dearly in his heart throughout his life.
He leaves behind his devoted and loving wife, Mary Maria, whose life was blessed by his unwavering love and companionship. He is also survived by his cherished children, Michele Maria and Apache Mariah; his treasured grandchildren, Jeremy, Jenny, Raymond, Aaron, and Megan; 17 adored great-grandchildren; and a large circle of extended family and dear friends who will forever hold his memory close.
Ray was a faithful and dedicated member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church, where his quiet faith and gentle spirit reflected the kindness he showed to others every day. He was a master carpenter whose gifted hands transformed wood into works of beauty and craftsmanship. Through his work, Ray left lasting impressions not only in the homes he helped build and restore, but also in the lives of those fortunate enough to know him.
Outside of his trade, Ray found peace and joy in caring for his yard and growing roses, a reflection of the patience, tenderness, and beauty he carried within himself. Whether working with wood, tending his garden, or spending time with family, he lived with humility, strength, and deep love. Ray also served his country in the US Army.
Above all else, Raymond Maria will be remembered as a loving husband, devoted father, proud grandfather and great-grandfather, and a sincere friend. His warmth, wisdom, and generous heart touched many lives, and his absence leaves a profound sadness that words cannot fully express.
Though our hearts are heavy with grief, we find comfort in knowing that Ray’s love, laughter, and legacy will continue to live on through all who knew and loved him. May he rest peacefully in God’s eternal embrace.
A Funeral Mass will be held at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 600 S Nova Rd, Ormond Beach, Florida, on May 14, 2026, from 10:00 am
