Rose Liberatore Tierney

Rose Liberatore Tierney, 92, passed away July 2, 2017 in Ormond Beach, FL. Rose was born in Frankfort, NY to the late Benny and Bessie Licciardi on August 5, 1924. During WWII she worked at Griffiss Air Force Base in Rome, NY as “Rosie the Riveter” where she met her husband Dominick Liberatore. Rose owned a ceramic business and taught ceramics for 10 years. She raised her family in Utica, NY and moved to Ormond Beach in 1975. For many years she had a Jewelry and Alteration Business in Ormond Beach. Rose loved painting and all types of arts and crafts. She loved playing cards and enjoyed traveling. Rose was one of 7 children 6 girls and 1 boy. Left to cherish her memory are sisters; Pat Davies and Peachy Circelli, son; Ron Liberatore and his wife Jan; daughter, Charlotte Liberatore; granddaughter; Jessica Liberatore. Besides her parents, Rose was preceded in death by husbands, Dominick Liberatore, Al Myer and David Tierney; brother, Sam Licciardi; sisters, Mae Harden, Mary Owens and Betty La Forest and her daughter, Donna Rose. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Ormond Hospice Center and the Garden Health and Rehab Center in Daytona Beach, FL where Rose resided for 2 years. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 9:00 a.m. Thursday July 6, 2017 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church Ormond Beach followed by entombment at Shady Rest Cemetery Holly Hill, FL. The family will receive friends Wednesday July 5, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home 548 N. Nova Road Ormond Beach, FL.
