Sylvia Katherine (Heid) Harris, 73, passed away early the morning of June 8, 2015. She was born March 15, 1942 in Youngstown, OH, to the late Henry and Katherine Heid. Sylvia graduated from South High School in 1960. She met and married Leslie Charles Harris in 1961; they were married 53 ½ years. Sylvia received her Radiologic Technician license through the Youngstown Hospital Association. Sylvia gave birth to son Jeffrey William in 1962 and
Paula Ann (Harris) Barron in 1965.
While living in Boardman, OH, Sylvia worked with the Boardman Local School System. In North Ridgeville, OH, she used her medical training while employed for Doctors Garcia, Rivera, and Cadsawan. Sylvia worked in Coshocton, OH for the Coshocton Joint Vocational School System. She returned to work as a Radiologic Technician in Bowling Green, OH, with doctors Conrad and Peatee. While in St. Clairsville, OH, she continued her medical career working with five Doctors affiliated with OMVC. After several years there, she moved on and worked again in education for the Belmont Technical College as an administrative assistant. Moving to Middlefield, OH, Sylvia continued in education, working at Hiram College in Hiram, OH as an administrative assistant for the office of annual giving. Sylvia provided each of these employers with outstanding service for a total of 25 years and retired with husband Leslie to Florida in 1996.
Sylvia is survived by her loving husband Leslie Charles Harris; son, Jeffery William Harris {wife, Debbie Elizabeth}; daughter, Paula Ann (Harris) Barron {husband, Andrew William Barron}; grandchildren, Samantha Leigh Soule, Anthony Ray Harris, William Paul Soule, Joseph Carl Harris and Veronica Marie Harris; brother, Henry Graham Heid (Terri McMahon). A Celebration of Life will be held in the Chapel at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 5400 Market Street, Boardman, OH 44512 on July 6, 2015. The Memorial Service will begin at 1:00 pm, followed by inurnment and committal prayers.
