Virginia (James) Fluke was born July 7, 1924, in Wooster, Ohio, to Sealy and Annie (Bucher) James.
Virginia graduated from Wooster High School in 1942. She worked as a bookkeeper for Wayne Mutual Insurance and Wooster Auto Club. Virginia married Norman Fluke in 1947, and they moved to Flagler Beach in 1977, then to Ormond Beach in 1985. Virginia enjoyed being a pet sitter. She was also a member of Harbor Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her husband Norman of 47 years, three sisters, and three brothers. Left to cherish her memory is her daughter Barbara Fluke (Rick), many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Halifax Humane Society or to any charity of your choosing.
We are sure Virginia was welcomed to her Heavenly home by her family and friends who have gone on before her. And also all of the pets that she so lovingly cared for. Almost everyone that loved Virginia called her “Mom.” She will be greatly missed but what a legacy she leaves and what a blessing to have known her.
A visitation for Virginia will be held Friday, June 13, 2025 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home, 548 North Nova Road, Ormond Beach, FL 32174. A Funeral service will occur Friday, June 13, 2025 at 1pm, 548 North Nova Road, Ormond Beach, FL 32174. A committal service will occur Friday, June 13, 2025 following the Funeral Service 548 North Nova Road, Ormond Beach, FL 32174.
