

Wallace Thomas Bowden, age 92, passed away peacefully August 16, 2015. He was born in Newark, NJ to the late Thomas H. Bowden and Gladys (Keyworth) Bowden. Mr. Bowden served his country honorably in the United States Army Air Corps. Upon his discharge from the military as a radio operator and instructor, Wally worked for General Motors, Linden, N.J. until 1943. He then worked for 16 years at Exxon Corp (Esso) Linden, N.J. as a Process worker, Pipefitter and Painter. Wally and wife Dee moved to California after Wally retired from Esso. He worked for Hollywood Presbyterian Hospital, Los Angeles, CA as a Painter Foreman. From there, Wally's went to work in 1965 for 19 years at Muhlenberg Hospital, Plainfield, N.J. as a Maintenance Supervisor. Wally and Dee remained longtime residents and members of Riverview United Methodist Church, Ormond Beach. Wally enjoyed playing golf and was an avid fan of his beloved NY Yankees. He will be missed deeply by all, especially his wife Dee of 43 years. Wally is survived by sons, Wayne Bowden (Barbara), Ormond Beach, FL and William Bowden (June), South Plainfield, NJ; Daughters, Carolyn Boyle(Thomas), Ormond Beach, FL and Nancy Gillen, Ormond Beach, FL. Grandchildren, Sherry Marcoux (Jeff), South Plainfield, NJ, Vincent Agostino, Scottsdale, AZ, Michael Agostino, Scottsdale, AZ, James Bowden, (Doreen), Ormond Beach, FL, Robert Bowden, Huntington Beach, CA, Erica Bowden, South Plainfield, NJ, Thomas Bowden, South Plainfield, NJ; Great Grandchildren, Jonathan Marcoux, Manhattan, KS, Ryan Marcoux, South Plainfield, NJ, Vanessa Agostino, Surprise, AZ, Kira Agostino, Phoenix, AZ, Michael Griscavage, Ormond Beach, FL, Great- Great Grandchildren Michael Griscavage, Jr., Ormond Beach, FL. Also left to cherish his memory are many Nieces and Nephews. He was preceded in death by brother, Thomas J. Bowden.
A visitation will take place August 26, 2015 from 9:00 -10:00 am at Riverview United Methodist Church, Ormond Beach, 2253 John Anderson Dr, Ormond Beach, FL 32176. Funeral services will begin at 10:00 am following the visitation. Wally will be laid to rest at Bushnell Veteran's Cemetery with full honors.
