

Walter Walker was born to the late Dobb and Marie Walker on December 11, 1936, in Waynesboro, GA. He graduated from the Burke County Schools System. He met and married the late Gloristeen H. Walker and from this union four children were born, Kenneth, Winsel, Sharon, and Kendale.
During his six years of military services in the U.S. Army he earned the following awards, decorations and medals: Good Conduct Medal, Rifle Marksmen and National Service Defense Medal. After touring worldwide in the military, he brought his family to Daytona Beach, FL, in 1966. He later started his own business with his late brother-in-law and a close friend, which eventually became Walker’s Concrete.
As a youth he attended Thomas Grove Baptist Church in Waynesboro, GA. Upon making Daytona Beach his family’s home, in 1968 after attending a Revelation Seminar, he made the decision to become a Seventh-Day Adventist, was baptized and received into the fellowship by the Mt. Calvary SDA Church that was located on Cherry Street in Daytona Beach Fl. As a faithful member he served as Treasurer, Deacon and Head Deacon.
Walter leaves a legacy of cherished memories to Kenneth, Winsel, Sharon, and Kendale; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; a sister, Inez Tindel, Waynesboro, GA; a brother, Bonnie Walker (Allene), Yorktown, VA; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, god-children, friends, and his beloved church family from Mt. Calvary SDA Church, Daytona Beach and Emmanuel SDA Church, DeLand, FL. Siblings preceding him in death – Dobb Walker, Jr., Eloise D. Williams, Wille Walker, and Gene Walker.
Walter’s transition to eternal life was peaceful. His departure was a deep and personal loss to his family and friends and he will be greatly missed.
