

Warren Francis Miller, Sr, born August 5, 1923 in Cambridge, MA, said farewell to his family and friends on Friday, July 27, 2012, after his battle with congestive heart failure. Warren was the last of seven children born to Walter and Olive (Nee-Tessier) Miller, all of whom preceded him in death. Warren grew up in Cambridge, and earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Boston University in 1949. During World War II, Warren served his country, earning his honorable discharge from the U.S. Army. In 1952 he joined Lederle Labs where he achieved a fulfilling and rewarding 40-year career in pharmaceutical sales. On March 29, 1947, Warren married the love of his life Frances Harriette Stanton. For many years they resided in Chelmsford, MA where Warren was a very active member of Vesper Country Club. As his buddies will attest, Warren’s passion in life was the game of golf. After retirement, Warren and Fran relocated to Ormond Beach, FL and Warren continued his love of golf at Riviera Country Club, where he and Fran cultivated more life-long friendships. Warren and Fran were also devoted members of St. James Episcopal Church, Ormond Beach. Always considered, the “life of the party,” Warren is survived by his wife of 66 years, Fran, son Warren F. Miller, Jr and his wife, Pat, of Charleston, SC, daughter Michele Miller Heidebrecht and her husband, Chris, of Chelmsford, MA. Warren was blessed with three grandchildren; Jeffrey Leggee and his wife, Kim, Jofre Miller, and Ashley Miller Palowitch, and her husband Christopher, all residents of Florida. Warren also treasured five great-grandchildren who affectionately called him “Grumpy”: Joshua Leggee, Samantha Leggee, Anna MacKenzie Leggee, Isabella Palowitch and Layton Palowitch. A celebration of Warren’s life will be shared on what would have been his 89th birthday August 5, 2012 at 2:00PM Riviera Counrty Club, 500 Calle Grande St., Ormond Beach, FL 32174-7520. In lieu of flowers feel free to donate in his name to the National Federation of the Blind ( www.nfb.org) Interment will be in Massachusetts at a later date. Arrangements are under the care and trust of Volusia Memorial Funeral Home, Ormond Beach, FL.
