Peacefully, following a lengthy illness, surrounded by his family at Lakeridge Health – Oshawa on Thursday, May 3rd, 2012, Cornelius Joseph (Joe) Vanderhyden, in his 69th year. Beloved husband of Yvonne. Loving father to Suzanne and her husband Chris Fehr and Lorianne and her husband Henry Giles. Stepfather of Jules. Dear Opa to Parker and Hayden. Predeceased by his parents Cornelis and Anna. Survived by his sisters Betty (Will) Koppens and Bernadette Tuinman. Fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews and his cycling, flying and music friends. Visitation will be held at the OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) on Sunday, May 6th, from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Monday, May 7th, at 1:00 p.m. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers Memorial Donations to the Durham Regional Cancer Centre would be appreciated.
