David James Essex

Former Canada Post/Group 4 employee (Lakeridge Health Oshawa)

Passed away peacefully, with his loving family by his side on January 27th, 2016. Loving son of Jean Essex (late James). Adored brother of Shawn, Rob (Deanna) and Murray (Shirley). Cherished uncle of Shane (Becky), Cory, Kevin, Ethan and Neil. David will also be dearly missed by many extended family and friends. David will be forever remembered for his love of sports especially the Bruins, Celtics, Patriots, Red Sox and Packers. He loved his model cars and had a great sense of humour. His friends and longtime co-workers will remember “BIG DAVE” for his calming presence and gentle but strong assurance. Visitation will be held at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West, (905-721-1234) on Sunday, January 31st, from 2 – 4 & 7 – 9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Monday, February 1st at 11:00 a.m. In memory of Dave’s love of sports, please come representing your favourite sport team, for both visitation and service.

Memorial donations will be gratefully accepted for Heart & Stroke Foundation or Canadian Diabetes Association.
