Dean Jason Smith

Passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, May 22nd, 2011, at the age of 43. Loving father of Meghan Elliott (Bill Desroches) and Dee Jay Elliott. Cherished Grandpa of Logan. Dean will be fondly remembered by the mother of his children, Cindy Elliott. Adored son of the late Donald Powers, Bernice Smith and Susan Elliot. He leaves behind siblings Michael Powers (Bernice), the late Stephen Powers, Tamie Dakin (Ronnie), Michele Houston, Tracey Chrapek, Rhonda Dubeau (Aaron) and Jon (Julia). He will be fondly remembered by many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and many close friends. The family especially appreciated the strength and moral support from Rhonda. Those who knew Dean will remember him for his unique character, his love of music and great sense of humour. Friends may call at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) for visitation on Tuesday, June 7th from 7 – 9 p.m. Memorial Service will be held in the Chapel on Wednesday, June 8th at 3:00 p.m. Cremation. Memorial donations the SickKids Foundation would be appreciated.
