Frances Josephine Josephine Hefferman Dumais

December 27th, 1922

Peacefully, surrounded by her family on Saturday, March 24th at Lakeridge Health Oshawa in her 90th year. A University of Toronto, St. Michael’s graduate, Josephine served as a Public Health Nurse for Oshawa and the Region of Durham, teaching many prenatal classes and visiting countless schools. A faithful member of the Catholic Women’s League and the Daughters of Isabella. Her steadfast faith in God and love for her husband and family was her greatest source of pride. Married 52 years to David, her soul mate and friend with four children, Daniel (Carol), Robert (Ena), Denise (Barry), and Mary-Anne (Randy). She will be lovingly remembered by her six grandchildren, Sarah, Hannah, Rebeccah, Emily, Denise and Joseph. Visitation will be held at the OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) on Tuesday, March 27th from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. Prayers will be held on Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. GREGORY THE GREAT CATHOLIC CHURCH (194 Simcoe Street N. Oshawa) on Wednesday, March 28th at 10:00 a.m. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. Many thanks to the care given by the 9th floor staff at Lakeridge Health Oshawa as well as all of the wonderful people at Extendicare Oshawa. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Parkinson Foundation of Canada. The family asks that you might visit a resident in a Long Term care facility.
