Gillian Susan Pashley Heath

Entered into rest at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Wednesday, August 17, 2011, at 78 years of age. Beloved wife of the late Alan Heath (2006). Loving mother of Nigel Heath and Sarah Heath and her husband Jeff Maybee. Devoted Grandmother to Rebecca, Christopher, Sara, David and Cameron. Dear sister of Ruby Houldsworth and the late Adrian Burchall of England. Gillian immigrated to Canada with her husband in 1957 and immediately joined St. George’s Memorial Church, and has been a faithful member and volunteer up to the time of her death. She spent 38 years working with Scouts Canada, volunteering both as a Cub Leader and as a Trainer, working locally with the adult leaders and later working on the Provincial and National levels of training. Gillian received one of the highest awards, Bar to the Silver Acorn, that Scouting had to offer at volunteer level. She is a retiree of Ontario Hydro in Pickering. She was a member of the Oshawa Senior Citizens Centre and the Oshawa Little Theatre. Memorial Service will be held at ST. GEORGE’S MEMORIAL ANGLICAN CHURCH (51 Centre St., Oshawa) on Saturday, August 20th, at 1:00 P.M. with visitation from 12:00 noon until time of service at 1:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. George’s Memorial Church, Scouts Canada, Multiple Sclerosis Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
