Glen Burton Porter

Surrounded by family and loved ones, Glen passed peacefully on Tuesday, January 12th, 2016 in his 83rd year. He is survived by his loving wife Evelyn (Fraser) of 58 years, his sister Gladys Walker, daughter Maria Bartolo, son-in-law Daniel Campbell, cousins Isabell and Everitt Fairey. Grandfather to Tara (Diego Vazquez) and Brad Upton and Great Grandfather to Ella and Jesse Vazquez. Glen worked for General Motors as a truck mechanic for 37 years. He was a proud member of the Masonic Lodge and had a love for motorcycles, vintage cars and aviation. Glen will be forever remembered for his love of reading and his ability to recount quotes from various aspects of life. His generous nature and positive outlook on life will remain in the hearts and minds of those he left behind. This intelligent man always had a story to tell and saw the glass as half full. He will be dearly missed by many friends and family. The family wishes to thank the medical staff at Lakeridge Health Oshawa – Critical Care CCV Station 2 for the care and compassion given to Glen and his family, especially Connie and Emily. Visitation will be held at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) on Saturday, January 16th from 11:00 a.m. until time of the Funeral Service in the Chapel at 1:00 p.m. Interment will take place in the spring.
