Helen Piatti

Passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 7, 2012 at the Village of Taunton Mills, Whitby. Helen was in her 94th year. She was married to Jack Piatti (deceased June 2000) and previously to Kenneth Proctor (deceased February 1979). Survived by her stepdaughter, Dianne Hardy and stepson David Piatti. Survived as well by her nephews Bruce Raby and Brian Raby. Helen was pre-deceased by her brothers Keith, Douglas, and Wilbert (Babe) Raby and by her stepson John Piatti. She is much loved and will be dearly missed by her nieces, nephews and many friends. Helen was a local artist painting more than a 1000 pictures and for many years taught her craft. In doing so she endeared herself to many. She was a true lady with a wonderful smile that radiated warmth, optimism, grace and friendship. She had an appetite for knowledge and for many years she was an avid world traveler. For the last eight years Helen resided in the Claremont Wing in the Village of Taunton Mills. She always made a point of learning every caregiver’s name and enjoyed chatting with all her helpers. The love and support provided by the entire staff is most appreciated. Visitation will be held at the OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) on Saturday, January 21, 2012 from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service in the Chapel at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Union Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Kingsview United Church.
