Passed away peacefully on Friday, December 24th, 2010 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa, at the age of 86. Beloved wife of Alfred for 67 years. Loving mother of the late Dave (Maryella), Barry (Noreen), Bob (Claudette Ringuette), Sandra Switzer, Glen (Judith), Sharon (Will McClory), Don (Donna) and the late Dale (Brenda). Irene also leaves behind many grandchildren, great grandchildren, brothers Bud, Mike, Earl and sister Margaret, as well as many nieces, nephews and other relatives. Those who knew Irene will best remember her for her love of baking, fishing, reading and family. Friends may call at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) for visitation on Monday, December 27th from 7 – 9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Tuesday, December 28th at 1:00 p.m. Interment at Mount Lawn Cemetery. Memorial donations will be gratefully accepted for the Canadian Cancer Society.
