Isobel Smith Walsh

Peacefully in her sleep in the comfort of her home on Friday, June 21st, 2013, at the age of 98. Lovingly cared for by her family each day during the last 19 months. Predeceased by her beloved husband Joseph Walsh in 2005. Cherished mother of Mary Celia Walker, Elizabeth Hoover and Margaret Bak. Affectionately known as Jelly Bean to her three sons-in-law, Duncan Walker, David Hoover and Michael Bak. Dear Grammy to Amy Savoie (Ryan), Jeff Hoover (Angie), and Gregory, Melissa and Jonathan Bak and Great Grammy to Kaden Savoie. Isobel treasured her family and was the epitome of love, charm, warmth, grace, wisdom and sweetness. She was an avid reader and was up-to-date on current affairs. She lived a long and full life and filled our lives with joy. Visitation will be held at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) on Sunday, June 23rd from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. MARY OF THE PEOPLE CATHOLIC CHURCH (570 Marion Ave., Oshawa) on Monday, June 24th at 1:30 p.m. If desired, donations may be made to Covenant House – Toronto or the charity of your choice.
