AVIS DE DÉCÈS
Louis Losier
19 juillet 1958 – 17 novembre 2020
It is with great sadness that the family of Louis Losier announce his peaceful passing in his loving home, on the morning of Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at the age of 62. Louis will be lovingly remembered by his wife Marie (born Litalien) of 40 years; his children, Denis (wife, Jennifer Stone), Daniel (wife, Alena Ravestein), David, and proud grandfather of his cherished Olivia and Anna. He will also be dearly missed by his brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews and the rest of his family and friends. Louis moved from Sudbury to Oshawa, Ontario with his small family in 1985 to start a new life and career as an industrial electrician with General Motors where he worked for 35 years. Louis was a proud, passionate tradesman with a strong work ethic, who took great pride and care in all he tackled. One of his greatest passions was to restore his classic car. His hard work was immediately recognized as he won several awards. Louis always felt most at peace immersed in the outdoors. Throughout his wonderful life, Louis always found time away from his work to enjoy a family camping trip. Hiking and canoeing were among his favorite pastimes. Around the campfire, Louis loved to keep everyone entertained with a good joke or an engaging story. Louis enjoyed discovering new parks and trails in Ontario. Both he and his wife Marie, have trekked many kilometers together in the woodlands. Everyone who knew Louis and Marie, understood that they shared a special bond and a romance that was authentic and rare. Louis was a man who held himself to high standards and expected the same of others. A man of his word, Louis had a strong sense of responsibility and was always available and present for his family. He was so proud of his three sons which was reflected in sharing their accomplishments. His gentle spirit will live on in his three sons. He will surely be missed by everyone. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, we will welcome family and friends to a celebration of his life to be held Spring 2021. In lieu of flowers, you can make donations to the Lakeridge Hospital Foundation - please follow the donation link below for a personalized page created in Louis's honour. Family and friends may share their memories and leave condolences by clicking on the 'Add a Memory' link below.

Dear Losier Family
Please accept my sincere and heartfelt condolences at the loss of your husband, father and grandfather. Louis was a wonderful fellow that I very much enjoyed talking with, especially about car projects. The job he did restoring his, for anyone was incredible, for a self taught novice, it was exemplary. The workmanship his restoration showed was second to none, and he was justifiably very proud of his work. I've every confidence he approached everything in his life with the same work ethic, and standard of accomplishment, including being a father, husband and grandfather to his family. his absence will certainly leave an unfillable void in your lives. May the wonderful memories you have, help to ease your pain. You're in my thoughts. - Rob MacDonald

I would like to express my sincere condolences to the Losier family and friends for your terrible loss.
Louis was a wonderful guy and left us too soon. I didn't know Louis really well at work, but when we were on projects together, he always displayed a positive, if quiet personality and he always had interesting, thoughtful things to add.
I met him outside of work at the Autofest car show 2 years ago and got to meet his wife and friends...I was just as impressed and looked forward to getting together with him on occasion in retirement and sharing an interest in old cars.
He's a man well worth remembering....

Dear Marie,
We offer our deepest condolences to you and your family. As we began our new life as a couple in Whitby, you and Louis were a welcoming and reassuring presence to us. My dream of building a bed as a wedding gift to my fiancee would not have come true without Louis' time, generosity, knowledge, imagination, and the space in your basement. ;) We count ourselves blessed to have been part of your life at that time. We keep you in our prayers.

Marie, I am so very sorry to hear this sad news about your beloved husband. Some of the social workers were here for a hike yesterday and so told me of Louis' death. Unbelievably young and too soon. I recall how much you & he went hiking, camping and generally enjoying the outdoors together for so many years. Your stories of your times together stayed with me and I realize this will be such a hard and challenging time for you and your 'boys.'
My thoughts and prayers are with you at this sad time.

I met Louie and Marie seven years ago at a car cruise and we became good friends, as we spent time together at cruises, shows and eventually having coffee at Timmy's. We had a " running joke" with Louie. How early would Louie arrive at car shows to get the best spot in the shade? Will miss you Louie. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

I first met Lou in 2009 at work when I was sent to his area when they didn`t really know where to send me. It came to be that it was only Lou and myself trying to learn the job. We started to discuss our histories and were mutually shocked to discover that we were both born in Sudbury in the hospital of the same name , both born the same year and the same month , only one day apart. Lou was july 19 I was july 18. It was Lou who coined the phrase " brother from a different mother ". I was always proud to repeat this story to other people knowing Lou as I did. We didn`t work together very long but stayed intouch. I viewed Lou as a serious person that enjoyed to laugh so I did my best to make him laugh and loved seeing him bent over in laughter. I quickly picked up that Lou was very skilled and would tackle any job that was put in front of him. Lou is a loss to all that know him and for me if I was the brother from a different mother then I have just lost my brother. This breaks my heart and now my heart goes out to the entire Losier family. Call on me if need be , Lou would appreciate it.

Marie Denis Dan and Dave, we are so deeply saddened by the loss of your beloved Louis. He was such an amazing man to all who met him. He was my partner at G.M. for 12 years, certainly had some laughs there over the years but more than that he was my friend. We would take the Super Bee ( Louis was so proud of that car) and my old truck to the car shows or we would go sledding with Dave. Barb and I are going to miss him so very much.
Rest in Peace my friend

We were fortunate to be neighbours for 27 years but luckier to have created a life long friendship.
Over the years we have shared many memories with Louis, Marie, Denis, Daniel and David. Louis was the person you could always count on if you needed anything-a tool, extra pair of hands, knowledge or information. For Louis, family and friends always came first!
I was always amazed of Louis’ vast knowledge. He was a skilled electrician, that was his training, but his mechanical knowledge was extensive, as well as his welding and building skills. If Louis put his mind to it, he could accomplish anything.
Many nights were spent around a campfire at our cottage or on the swing in their backyard, sharing stories about our children, life experiences and definitely music as Louis and Kevin were both learning to play the guitar
Louis simply loved his family, the life they had built and he valued friendship
To Marie, Denis & Jennifer, Daniel & Alena and David, to say sorry just doesn’t seem to be enough but our memories of Louis will always be part of life and he will definitely live on through each of you!

We want to give our deepest condolences to the Losier family in this very tough time. My memories of Louis are very happy and positive for the few occasions that we met. I was always in awe of the dedication and time he put into his beautiful car. It was amazing to see how far it would progress each and every time I stopped in. What was also incredible to me was seeing Louis and Dan together and how similar the two of them were. Dan is one of the most genuine, kind, generous, and loving person I know - and I have no doubt that many of his amazing traits came from Louis. May you Rest In Peace Louis, and know that you have so much to be proud of with the family you have built.

All of the Mackey family send their love and condolences to the Losier family. Louis was such a sweet and gentle man. Our favourite memory is spending the evening with Marie and Lou at the Toronto Auto Show. He and the Super Bee were the stars of the show. His pride and excitement shone brighter than his beloved Bee - if that was even possible, as the Bee was immaculate and perfect!
Marie and Lou shared a deep love for each other, their children, and their families. We are shattered to hear of this terrible loss.
