Marie Belford (Lang) Libby

Passed away peacefully on Friday, February 4, 2011 at the age of 77. Beloved wife of Walter for 58 years. A loving, caring, sharing mother to Leeanna Meier (Barry), Joanne (Ted Littlejohn) , Walter (Angela) and Gordon. Precious Nanny to Melissa Buitrago (Mike), Matthew, Jillian, Ross, Jocelyn, David and Eric. Step nanny to Ryan, Mitchel and Cole. Nanny was a very special great grandmother to her darling Isabella. Marie will be missed by her brother Eric (Hazel) Lang, Marilyn (Gord Bannon) and Irene (Jack Horne), along with many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, Kenneth and Charlotte Lang. Marie was a member of St. Georges Anglican Church were she regularly climbed the tower to ring the chimes. She also was an avid golfer and a long time member of the Oshawa Golf Club (Ladies’ Golf Captain) and The Meadows Country Club in Sarasota, Florida. She had a great passion for golf, her last steps were perfecting her game. Marie was also a Past Regent and 50+ Year Member of the IODE, Golden Jubilee Chapter. Marie also spent numerous hours supporting other charitable causes. She leaves behind a tremendous amount of friends in both Oshawa and Sarasota.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Voice or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated. Visitation will be at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905721-1234) on Wednesday, February 9th from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Memorial Service will be held in the Chapel on Thursday, February 10th at 3 p.m.
